There are two ways of telling dates:     Hay dos maneras de decir fechas:

  The third of March  March the third      En castellano usamos más los números cardinales para las fechas y decimos uno de enero, dos de febrero etc.

Learn these prepositions too.  También apréndete estas preposiciones.

   
       
  We use in with months: In January, in February...   We use on with the days of the week: on Monday, on Tuesday...
  (Usamos  "in" con los meses: en enero, en febrero...)   (Usamos "on" con los días de la semana: el lunes, el martes...)
       

 But if we mention both month and the ordinal number together we use on.
(Pero si mencionamos al mes y al número ordinal del mes en forma conjunta utilizamos on)
       
  On January the first   El primero de enero
  On April the tenth   El diez de abril
  On December the twelfth   El doce de diciembre
